But with so many options available, I get how easy it is to feel a bit overwhelmed and unsure of what to choose. That’s why I’ve put together some skincare recommendations tailored for different skin types, so you can start building your perfect routine or add some products that can be beneficial for your specific skin needs.

Skincare For Oily Skin

Oily skin can be tricky to manage, as it often comes with various concerns like texture, oil buildup, blackheads, acne, and large pores. The environment also plays a big role, especially humidity, which can make oiliness worse. When choosing products for oily skin, it’s important to consider both the texture and the ingredients. The focus should be on products that can control oil, prevent clogged pores, and help minimize acne.

#1. Cleansing Balm

When you have oily skin, you might shy away from products that feel oily, but cleansing balms are an exception. They can be incredibly beneficial for oily skin since they can tackle multiple skincare issues at once. If oily skin isn’t properly cared for, the excess oil can harden on the surface, leading to clogged pores, blackheads, and acne. A cleansing balm works by melting your skin’s oil, instantly improving texture and preventing bacteria from getting trapped.

So if you have oily skin, start your routine with a cleansing balm, like House of Hur Midnight Soothing Cleansing Balm. This balm not only removes makeup and deeply cleanses, but it also helps keep pores clean and minimizes their appearance. It’s formulated with black rice, chia seed, and chestnut shell extracts to hydrate and gently cleanse without stripping the skin. When mixed with water, it transforms into a soft, milky consistency that leaves your skin feeling fresh and balanced.

#2. Oil Control Serum/Toner

After cleansing away oils and impurities in the first step, it’s crucial to follow up with a product that provides oil control. Oily skin is often genetic, so simply removing the excess oil won’t resolve the underlying issue. One of the best ingredients to balance oily skin is Niacinamide, hands down.

A toner or serum with Niacinamide, like the NINELESS B-Boost 10% Niacinamide Serum, can help reduce oiliness throughout the day and improve skin texture with continuous use. Niacinamide is beneficial for all skin types, but it’s especially effective for oily skin, as it not only controls oil but also helps with acne and enhances skin hydration by strengthening the skin’s barrier.

This serum goes a step further by adding Tranexamic Acid and Ascorbyl Glucoside. These ingredients brighten the skin and provide antioxidant protection, offering an extra layer of care for your skin.

Skincare For Dry Skin

Dry skin is all about nourishment and protection. This skin type lacks sufficient oil production, which weakens the skin barrier, leading to moisture loss, increased sensitivity, and a rough texture. To restore balance, dry skin needs products that hydrate and protect the skin barrier.

Here are two types of products you need to include in your routine to take care of dry skin:

#1. Hydrating Serum/Toner

When you think of dry skin, you might immediately reach for a rich face cream, and that’s a great choice since dry skin needs those emollients to maintain softness and protect the skin barrier. But incorporating a hydrating serum or toner offers an extra layer of hydration, which can make all the difference.

The KAINE Kombu Balancing Ampoule Toner is a perfect choice for dry skin types. It has a cushiony texture and it’s packed with antioxidants like 60% fermented kombucha and Vitamin C, which help rejuvenate the skin. It will help get rid of skin tightness, improve texture, and reduce flakiness, leaving your skin feeling nourished and smooth.

#2. Nourishing Face Mask

A rich face cream, like S.NATURE Aqua Squalane Moisturizing Cream, is a no-brainer for dry skin so it can be a great addition to your routine. It’s nourishing and leaves your skin feeling baby-soft, perfect for maintaining moisture overnight.

But if your skin is extremely dry or you live in a place with harsh weather conditions, you’ll need intense hydration to combat dryness. The SUNGBOON EDITOR Deep Collagen Mask Set is ideal for this. Unlike regular masks, this jelly mask doesn’t dry out, ensuring long-lasting hydration. For maximum benefit, try the Anti-Wrinkle Lifting or Hyalu-B5 Hydrating variants for deep moisture and skin repair.

Skincare For Sensitive Skin

With sensitive skin, the key is to avoid overstimulating it. You want to choose products that not only prevent irritation but also provide soothing benefits to calm and protect the skin.

#1. Gentle Cleanser

Taking care of sensitive skin begins with a gentle face cleanser. The ETUDE Soon Jung pH 6.5 Whip Cleanser is an excellent choice here. It’s mild, fragrance-free, and has a low pH, making sure it doesn’t trigger sensitive skin. Infused with panthenol and madecassoside from centella asiatica, this cleanser helps soothe and calm while gently removing impurities.

Go for this cleanser if your skin is reactive, redness-prone, stings easily, or you’re dealing with barrier damage due to weather conditions or overuse of active ingredients.

#2. Soothing Toner/Cream

While using too many products can be a lot for sensitive skin, it’s still possible to build a multi-step routine as long as the products are simple but effective. After cleansing, opt for a soothing and hydrating product like I’m From Mugwort Essence. The star ingredient here, mugwort extract, helps calm and provide hydration at the same time.

What I love about this essence is that it can be applied with cotton pads to target specific areas that need extra soothing, almost like a mask. After this step, you can proceed to your cream.

And, of course, I’d recommend Dear, Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream. If you’ve heard about it but haven’t tried it yet, this is your sign! It’s formulated with Chamomile, centella asiatica, and Purslane extracts, offering anti-inflammatory benefits and soothing relief for sensitive skin.
